turkisholympiad2009-logo.jpgThe 4th Statewide Turkish Olympiad – Texas Final organized by Raindrop Turkish House will be held at Hobby Center Sarofim Hall on April 3rd 2010.

Students from all over the state of Texas will compete in categories ranging from singing contests, poetry contests, talent contests, stand contests, writing contests, and folk dance competitions to cuisine and handmade contests.

The winners of each category will be awarded based on placement and first place winner will represent the lone star state in Turkey. Since 2003, the Turkish Olympiad Association based in Istanbul, Turkey has worked in promoting the widespread usage of Turkish language and culture and with the goal of applauding the best students learning Turkish language. Every year since the first Turkish Olympiad - six years ago, the number of participating countries has increased dramatically from 21 countries in the first year to 105 in 2008 (For more info click http://www.turkceolimpiyatlari.org). In order to contribute to the mutually enriching relationship among Turkish Americans and their friends, as well as between the people of the United States of America and the Republic of Turkey, Raindrop Turkish House will continue to organize and support cultural activities such as this Turkish Olympiad.
